Little Women

In this blog I´m going to talk about one of the books I´ve read this year. Little Women is a classic novel that tells the story of four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, who live in U.S.A. at the time of the civil war. Through the book the sisters are forced by life to grow up and discover who they are.  Every sister has something special that characterizes them and something they have to struggle with. Meg is the oldest sister, she is very beautiful, calm, wise, responsible, hardworker and the right hand of her mom, Mrs. March, she is a perfect little woman but sometimes she gets bored of her life and wishes not to be poor and not to have to work so hard. Jo is the next sister, she is impulsive, very stubborn, she gets angry easily and has a lot of trouble controlling her emotions. She tries really hard to control her temper and wants to be a good person. Jo has troubles with being a “lady”, she doesn´t want to do the things that she's supposed to do to be a girl, she likes to run, to play and to act “like a boy”; she defies the feminine stereotypes and she doesn´t settle. Her passion is reading and writing amazing stories. Beth is the third sister; she is very talented for music and loves to play the piano, is very shy, sweet, quiet and caring. Beth is like the angel of the family, she is Jo´s favorite and has a sad end in the story. The last sister is Amy, the most beautiful and vain, like her sisters she is very talented and smart and her passion is to paint. Amy is always getting in troubles, has a strong temper and it’s hard for her to learn from her mistakes.

The story of these sisters is like a roller coaster of emotions, that allows you to identify with them and feel what they are feeling in every  moment. This book is a beautiful novel that makes you think about life and what you want to make out of it, leaves many learnings and too much to think about.
